TOPIC: Trade Value

Interesting times with Daniher now requesting a trade to Sydney. What's his value and what is the value of others like Tim Kelly, Brad Hill and Ed Langdon.
Geelong are chasing 2 first rounders and another pick inside 30 while we're looking at pick 6 as starters from St Kilda and early 2nd rounder for Ed. I'd personally rate Daniher as worth at least 2 first rounders even with his fitness problems because of his ability to win games off his own boot.
Any thoughts on these and other possible shifters next week?
I just hope the haggling doesn't hold up other trades too much.

Bradley has to be worth more than a single first rounder. Maybe a first round and a high second round for such an elite player.

That's the problem with a lot of these prospective trades because the Saints next after 6 is 58 so we face the prospect of taking either a player or a 2020 second rounder which may help get our Academy and father/son picks next year.

I reckon pick 6 is what Hill is worth , add to that his contracted for two more years and I think they have to pay either Acres or a very early second round pick if they want us to release him.

Melbs pick 22 for Langdon would do me.

Daniher is a gun and still very young. He's worth more than Kelly for mine as a KPF who can break games apart unlike many/any others.

If we could get any additional picks from the Hill trade I'd be ecstatic. We definitely need some more points to use on academy selections so it's well worth asking the question.

Same goes for Langdon, he's worth much more than pick 22 and has finished high in our best and fairest the past couple of years. He's a teens pick or at least an upgrading of other picks in addition to 22. I'd take Angus from Melbourne for him though.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Outs-Hill, Langdon, Blakely?
Ins-Brayshaw? Menedue? Kelly?

Need!!-Robertson, Jackson, Henry, Sharp?

Don't see how we can manage all that, particularly with Bell saying we're going to be active during the trade period.

Bell. Stop talking up the player you want to trade.

Bloody Bell has a different ring to it than the last lot of outcasts.

Belly’s done well previously and I’ll back him in to do better than most. Can’t win every card game.

Some of these Victorian pundits are absolute clowns and quite insulting at times. There's a guy on trade radio suggesting that in return for Pick 6 we give to the Saints not just Brad Hill but also pick 26. I'm not sure what this guy Mitch Cleary is on but I nearly fell off my chair when I read this.

Yeah I heard that as well. Kidding himself. Pick 6 is a fair price for Hill. Does anyone else reckon a mid 20’s pick is fair for Langdon? He’s worth more than that I would have thought.

I think potentially he is but if Melbourne get too coy and try to offload a next season second rounder we should settle for pick 22 this year remembering that if a deal is not done Ed can head to the pre season draft where Melbourne have number 2 pick.
If we can hit the draft with picks 6, 7, 22, 26 and 82 we should be able to get possibly Jackson, Sharp, Henry and Rivers who could form the core of our next premiership push.

I'm keen on Robertson, but will go early. Big bodied, in and under midfielder and captain of AA U/18 side. We really need someone like this to learn from and take the pressure off Fyfe and Mundy.

Yeah true, although history says this rarely happens. Unfortunately I don’t think Freo have much bargaining power in the Langdon situation. I also note Kelly is refusing to talk with Freo at all.
