If Blakely is on the outer at the club and we are thinking about trading him out, What sort of pick do you think we could get for him ? or should we try and do a straight swap with Port for Sam powell pepper, both are hard at it in and under young bull players, it could be a win win for both clubs.

Both players are ready to go and have plenty good footy years ahead of them, instead of drafting a young kid to replace Blakely we could have a ready to go replacement.

Pardon my ignorance, but is Blakely really that much on the outer? And does he want to go? I reckon Justin Longmuir is Blakely's best chance of realising his potential as an elite inside midfielder, and won't be wasting him on a half-back flank like our old friend Ross. He's a better player than Powell-Pepper.

Despite how highly we rate Connor I think he will only equate to a 2nd or 3rd round pick. His poor defensive work directly cost us the games against Carlton and the Saints when he was unable to lock down opposition forwards in the final quarters. I still believe he has the potential to be one of our best midfielders but it seems the die may be cast and he will be one of those sacrificed to bring us the Draft picks we need to get targeted recruits in the draft.

Maybe getting JL in has helped the situation...and he is a required player in his eyes.

We don't have the luxury of putting players like Blakely or Simpson offside for manageable infractions. RoLy mentioned that in the Simpson case it is the domain of the leadership group... whose ideological mantra was shaped under him. Shoulders like a coke bottle.
Nat Fyfe, and & co need to shed their hard nosed attitude and come to JLo's party. Retaining Connor would be a good sign of benign change starting to filter in.
