I find it interesting how it has been reported and I reckon regardless of whether it was Suma that leaked, there are going to be some interesting conversations around Freo HQ and in particular the panel members about whether someone has spoken to someone else.
Something I've experienced many times is how a conversation can be perceived so differently between the people involved. As an example, the article talks about Suma raising the idea of the CEO being involved in disciplinary action and not leaving it up to the leadership group, that could well be straight out of his time at the Eagles when the players got away with murder and may have some validity particularly if the problems are occurring in the leadership group. Ties in with his raising of the drugs culture at the Eagles although how that is relevant, I couldn't say.
My gut feel is that Suma has read the room, looked at the list, looked at the potential CEOs and made a gut call that he's not getting the job, has made a point of pointing out the issues and how he thinks they should be solved and will sit back and wait for the call in three years time when the new coach is struggling. In this scenario, he's probably responsible for telling someone what he said or even what he was going to say in the interview and the reporter has got the info and extrapolated what really happened.
