You'd have a reasonable expectation the players taken with those picks would play 150 games. That then is 450 games traded for probably no more than 120 games from Tim Kelly.

They had a better team with Gaff, Shepard and NicNat all firing and could only conjure up 5th place and gone after week 2 finals. Is Kelly gonna make them better, maybe, maybe not. Is Freo going to be a better team under Jlo? What we do know is, we’re stock piling some young talent. Is there going to be another Kelly amongst them. Highly likely. Hopefully Lobb et al can play 20+ games next year. That’ll probably do for starters.

If you take Masten out of that team, and insert Kelly. Yes they are a better team with Kelly in it. The good thing is we now have open access to WA talent at the draft. The bad thing is West Coast next year could be formidable.

They're never formidable, just lucky. Kelly's a ripper, good luck to him - I could never understand how any Indigenous player could join a club whose fan base booed Goodesy into a breakdown. Maybe that's just me - some things are just unforgivable.

Tim Kelly is a champ and the Eagles will be significantly boosted with him in their team. Our draft picks really set us up to get some amazing young talent. We are not in a premiership window next year so building our list could be the smartest thing we could do.
