TOPIC: Tim Kelly - lock it in

Geelong will aim high but will end up having to take the best low ball offer they can get or risk losing Kelly for nothing, I think we should at least offer our pick 7 to Geelong so it forces the Eagles to pay up, if Kelly Says no to us it will either force him to re-sign With Geelong or Geelong end up that peed off they throw him into the draft and we get him for nothing.

Either way lets not make it easy for WC and Kelly to get what they won't. if you are using the excuse to come home for family reasons you shouldn't be picky about which team you play for.

That’s funny Jezza. Replace our departing wings with S.Hill, who has struggled to put two games together over the last couple of seasons, plus one of our unspecified plethora of midfielders none of who have demonstrated enough speed to justify being named. That sounds about as viable a plan as bringing back Harley.

I’m with Jezza on this, tell S Hill to lose the bulk Ross told him to build up to become a half back flanker, tell him it’s ok to only kick on his left and we have a ready made replacement who’s a better kick than either of them.

I think Walters might be the best bet to play wing. We will be bringing in Liam Henry too who played a bit of wing in the U18's but might be best to start as a small forward. I think Stephen Hill might be past his wingman days but I hope he gets back to his best.

I’m not sure whether I want Tim Kelly or James Clement less. Both look like poison pills to me.

A couple of those Next Gen Academy kids who played for Claremont colts premiership team looked likely wingers and Jason Carter is another option in his second season.

I think it’s clear that Kelly doesn’t want to play for Freo. He thinks the slime are a better fit for him and his family.
Suggest one of our first round picks to Geelong for TK (once we receive StKilda’s first rounder and another pick for Brad) this would put the wind up both wc and TK. The slime will then pay overs for him.
Mission accomplished.
We then draft in a couple of the under 18 champs.

Yep, I agree with Docker + & Slammen. Use only one of our top 10 picks as a carrot for Kelly and watch the WC toilet mob go into frenzy mode in selling the farm to try and get something similar, even if it drags on for the whole trade period, and then pull the carrot away and just do some last minute deals on the side to suite ourselves setting us up for a great draft.

I agree also. It's important to also put geelong under pressure to get a good deal for Kelly, they talk a big game. They will look like idiots if they accept wce first pick this year and next. Meanwhile freo should say something to the tune of " we would make geelong an offer that reflects kellys worth but he won't even talk to us".
Puts pressure on all three parties.

Might cause enough of a stalemate to put him in the draft. He can't put a big price on his head either because west coast can't pay much, they had to offer a long contract so they can backload it.

Hi everyone

I don't think we should import a player who wants to play for the Eagles. That goes against one of the things we say we are about - ie, getting players to play their hearts out for us because they are on our side.

Tim Kelly is a young man who has really difficult family circumstances with his kids, he wants to come HOME for his family and he wants to play for the club he supports. It is so simple. Let it happen. Eagles supporters are a mystery to me but there you go.

And no matter what deals are done (looking at you, Jezza, from a few pages back) I will not be there shouting "Suck Sh*t Kelly" at the Derby. It's rude, it's unseemly, it is not the Dockers supporter I want to be.

WC and Kelly can both get what they want. I doubt Freo want Kelly anyway. But if they can shaft WC in the process, that sets the tone for the Jlo and Bell era.

I'm all for tone setting.

They already do, and have done for a couple of decades. Remember their follow up to Gaff/Brayshaw?

Shaft the bastards first.

I would very much hope that JL & Belly are concentrating on getting a good deal for Langdon & Hill, working out if there are any available trades who want to play with us, and are worth having, and talking to potential draftees, to worry about how to shaft the eagles, Kelly & Geelong. The only way to shaft them is on the footy field in season 2020.

Get on with the job boys, and pay no attention to the dreamers on D/L.
