From what I gather from the President is that he listened to me and Lyon was sacked. I just replied to the email message and said that he didn't listen to me at all because I didn't want Lyon sacked. I added that if they use the same process for the selection of a new coach that I want my vote counted for Justin Longmuir and that under no circumstances should Sumich be appointed.

Good on him. It was a message that said he was taking charge of the club, which might seem an obvious thing to say but it's not something that has really been obvious.

It's reassuring to know that he was actually thinking about this stuff over the past 18 months because the message from the bunker over that period has been that everything is going gangbusters. To the point where there are people who are shocked that a coach could be sacked for being in charge of such a highly successful outfit.

Course they want the everday punter, but that's not where the decent money is. It's corporate boxes and sponsorship. They're hurting on both fronts. 5000 less seat renters they can handle.

Our company had a corp box the first year and you don't get change from 100k. They also tried to upsell me on boundary signage. That really stung.

I get the point he's trying to make, I just think the timing is off.

The lack of word from Dale earlier in the season when there was speculation about the coach etc was fine by me as it seemed to lead to him not wanting to publicly support the coach.

I liked his press conference earlier in the week for many reasons. That seems like the best time to speak directly to the fans and make that message clear. A few days later seems like an afterthought.
