You're looking forward to our losses next year, rr? Really?

Maybe you should just follow Roly to his next place because he is clearly more important than Freo.

As for next year, yes there will be losses. Even a brilliant coach will take more than one pre-season to undo the deficiencies left behind by that last clown, so you'll have a bit to enjoy won't you.

RR how about:

i. It takes time to get skills back into players
ii it takes time to de-brainwash that backwards/sideways game plan
iii well we did lose the Hills and Langdon
Iv hmmm and I'm sure there will be some injuries

How's that for a start. But I'll give the coach a year like I did Bell & Co

Great step forward by the decision makers today, Finally showing some balls, although 2 years late in my estimation. The club can now look forward and I'm sure they have some quality names in mind as replacements, Peter Bell is no fool.
I applauded the signing of Ross initially and the club moved forward in the early days but whoever's decision it was to award a further 5 year contract to Ross should have been marched out at gunpoint, stupidity at the highest level.
To Ross's credit his press conference today was class and I'm sure all at Fremantle wish him well ... He's just not the right coach for this club now. So who will be next?

A coach of an AFL team is on a good wicket in dollars terms. Every coach would know that the day will come.
Why Lyon is bringing family into it?
He brought his family to Perth thinking he will coach Fremantle or West Coast until they finish Uni?
He's deciding to leave Perth, his decision not Fremantle Football Club's.

Bit disappointed in the local paper this morning.

If you're going to run a trashy tabloid newspaper, you can't afford to miss out on an opportunity to run a headline like

A-weema-weh, A-weema-weh

I think many supporters are aware they will wear losses next year. We don't know who'll be left on the list for starters.

It's more important how they play and lose. If they doing it showing some flair, smart play and attacking, organised football, it'll show things are on the up.

The medical dept is another that needs a review. But if training methods change, then maybe they won't be backing up with TBAs and blokes who's season is over before it starts.

It's odd that they use terms like disarray or crisis. I think it's a club taking control of a crisis.

There's a refusal to accept that Fremantle have been performing poorly for a long time. I don't know if it's the romance they have for Ross Lyon or that they have such a low opinion of Fremantle that they think this is good enough, or if they just pay so little attention that they've been lapping up the spin out of Cockburn bunker for 4 years but they're wrong.

People were laughing at the team from the opening bounce on Saturday night. Their own supporters had given up in the opening quarter, not angry or disappointed, just accepting that that was the standard now and nothing was going to change it.

That's a very bad place for a club like Fremantle to be in and if they hadn't made the decision to remove Rosich and Lyon I think 2020 would have seen the past 4 years of ineptitude finally hitting home and the club completely tear itself apart.

The media love a headline that suggests they can string a story out with more carnage.

To my mind, they have been in crisis and disarray for 2 years. Now they are doing something about it.

The Thanks Ross thread would suggest so. He's going out with a smile on his dial, a full bank account and plenty of media mates trying to get him a gig elsewhere before the weekend.

Pretty easy to make a 'classy' exit in those circumstances. Someone else has to clean up the mess.

I've avoided raining on the Thanks Ross discussion - but in all fairness, this thread should have "(No Wimpy Feelgood Worrywarts)" added to it.

Just celebrate the new dawn - most of us have waited yonks for it.

Freo, I think Dockerland should take out a class action and sue Tom Morris for plaigerism.
