TOPIC: Staging

SonSon has to be unlucky being fined for that, doesn’t he? He laid it on a bit thick but it wasn’t anything you don’t see a few times each week. I thought Jeremy Howe’s staging in the goal square against Adelaide, which cost them a certain goal, was far more obvious.

Seen several over the season, must be short of funds as suddenly taking note of them. Blicavs the other week now SonSon.

The Port Adelaide kid, I think it was Butters, when he nearly got Nathan Wilson reported was probably a lot worse than Sonny's indiscretion.

In a game where an umpire did a full 360, arms flailing, then pulled out a handkerchief, held it to his forehead and dropped to the ground, arms and legs spread everywhere as he lay motionless until every person on the stadium had stopped to look at him, I feel like the AFL might have been better to let this one go unmentioned.

Can we fly Michael Christian over and get 211 and Christian to reenact the action and see what happens to MC’s scone?

Do the ALF look at the Geelong brothers. I am sure they bring their own tomatoe sauce sachels in their socks to master the stage.

Much as I love SonSon, he’s lucky not to have been pinged before. Not that he’s alone but he does overdo it on a regular basis.

Yeah, jump on the media bandwagon and stick the boots into our best player. Just what CH7 and the Worst want. Walters was hit and went to ground, vision of the incident is not compelling. But Christian & co bow to the braying commentators.
The aforementioned Selwoods, numerous other players over the last 10 years, and probably the worst example of a stager (or is that best?) Jack Darling, continue to commit worse every week with impunity. But no, leave them alone and stick the boots into Mikey. Hypocrites the lot of you.

That is my final word on that topic.

He's laid it on a bit in the past, but he's not reached Selwood levels yet. That looks like a solid hit.

How does he get pinged for that, or are they just applying the 'we know you're a good candidate to chuck some random rule infringements at'? scenario.

Check my post again RM. I’m not laying into Sonny. As I said “he’s not alone”. He certainly isn’t the worst going around but he does play for free kicks. Like many here I’d like to see plenty of other players get the same penalty but let’s not get too carried away looking for glass houses.

Staging charges at the tribunal should involve people pretending to get hit. Not people getting hit and playing it up a bit.

It's an over reaction in line with the deliberate out of bounds they hit Fyfe with.

Yet another example of Docker bashing. The Dockers are nearly irrelevant to the AFL so they can pick on them all they like and no one raises a finger. How often through the years have other players done exactly the same thing (or worse) and the penalty is not consistant. Sick of it!

Wasn't one of our young players - Clayton Collard - the first player sanctioned under this rule when they brought it in?
