I can't you beaut that post.

His passing is horrible news. Sad loss.

He was an outstanding footballer and deserved the respect of the whole country.

RIP, Polly. Now go and have a kick to kick with St Peter and let all the footy fans upstairs see it all one more time

Sad also to hear of the passing of the wonderful Ningali Lawford-Wolf in the UK. Deep sympathy to Clinton.

Not a good day.

When one contemplates who has been the greatest indigenous player in Australian football history Pollly Farmer would come close to being that player.
RIP

Vale Graham Farmer a great footballer but more importantly a great indigenous man whose sporting ability was only surpassed by his humility and service to others. many indigenous youngsters got an education through his foundation. he has left a great legacy

Not many people are recognised during their lifetime as having changed the way their sport was played. A trailblazer on the field and a gentleman off it. Vale.

Like many, I didn't see him play but he was always revered as an East Perth legend.

He was 191cm which makes him 1cm shorter than Fyfe.

If he played in this day & age he'd have played Ruck Rover like Fyfe, Mundy, Barlow and Dangerfield.

It would have been great to see how he'd go playing in that position in contemporary times.

He must have been something special. Even the Victorian papers are calling him one of the greatest of all time.

I watched Polly play when he was with East Perth and I had the good fortune to be barracking for the Cardinals when he became their captain-coach in 1968. Even at the age of 33 his skills were sublime and he was an outstanding coach, of course, winning the premiership in 1969 and 1971. Great memories of a great man.

Walter, don't get too carried away Mike Sheahan had him 8th on the all time greats behind John Nicholls.

Thats ok, hypen.

I've never known Mike Sheehan to get anything right anyway.

You know you've hit rock bottom when you're well behind a drunken Robbo in the analysis stakes

I thought Sheahan was disgusting the way he carried on trying to justify himself and glad to see Sam Newman put him in his place basically saying that he saw and played with Polly so best qualified to judge. I thought Sam was going to leap across the table and throttle him at one stage when he carried on.
