I wouldn't mind getting a look at Mundy in defence. I feel we need his kicking in the back half. We struggled to bring the ball out of defence and he didn't have much of an influence in attack. He should be doing the kick outs and slicing through the zone.

We still weren't good with Ryan and Wilson playing. The problems are more pronounced without them but it's the same problem we've had all year. We set up in three distinct parts of the ground and struggle to transfer from one section to the other unless it's through a stoppage.

I felt we improved quite a bit for transitioning the ball from defense this year.. we have gone coast to coast more this year than ever especially when Brad Hill gets involved.. we just can’t lock it in our front half once we get it in especially when we play to many talls.. that’s what I thought but I haven’t really looked at all the stats I must admit

Mundy would be great back there and better suited to that role than in the forward line in my opinion. We are short on personnel, and the article on AFL last week regarding a teams ability to perform minus its best players, would seem to support the impact of missing your best.
Much has been made of Stevens and Hannebury’s efforts this week to point out our own deficiencies. What if top players such as 4 time club B & F and All Australian selection means you are better than someone playing under 50 games.

We dont have forward structure.

The mids and defenders bomb it in because there is no plan of where leads will present, the only bloke down there who knows how to play ;like a natural forward is Walters, he leads and can kick, Matera is Ok as a small forward too, the rest you can raffle they might do some defensive pressure like Switta but cant lead and cant kick.

As a makeshift forward Mundy has done OK, but he is at his best in the midfield.

Hopefully next year Hogan and Tabs can be fit and can provide targets, if they dont get sucked into playing upfield on a wing.

Our tall forwards provide static targets for the opposition to double team. And we often fall for it.

I like the idea of Mundy returning to where he started for Freo, bending time and space. He'd certainly get plenty more of the ball.

Shanes right, we are unable to get the footy out of defense, due to structural and strategic deficiencies. The footy is either kicked out on the full, trying to avoid the 2 or 3 on 1 contests down the line (where everyone, including the drovers dog know we are going to kick it) or marked by one of the 3 aided by his teammates. It comes back in to be turned over by our personnel and is kicked back out, rinse and repeat.

The times we have gone "coast to coast" have been due either to Hill's exceptional speed off the mark and evasive skills, and or someone going against the team rules and picking off an option through the corridor between CHB and back of the centre. It generally has not come from our KPF's leading up past the wing for the footy.
