TOPIC: Hil & Kelly

I thought I would copy in the quote from 6pr’s site. I haven’t listened to the whole segment yet it may cast further light.
The future of Fremantle midfielder, Bradley Hill, is back up in the air yet again, but the man himself says there’s no immediate talks of trade planned.

“It’s definitely not going to happen, I caught up with Colin [Young, his manager], I asked him what’s all this stuff in the news.”
“And he said it’s definitely not going to be happening,” Hill told 6PR Breakfast.

“We’re not going to be talking or saying we’re requesting a trade,” he told Steve and Baz.

People can draw their own conclusions.

Just had a chance to listen to full interview and it’s true he didn’t discount a trade happening. He denied a request would be put to the club this week.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he was here or gone next year. It definitely sounded that the reason behind him wanting to go home was his partners wish to be near family and friends.

It actually works better if you include the entire quote;

"Like you saw in the paper and stuff, all the stuff saying I'm going to sit down with the club and have this discussion ... I had a coffee with Colin yesterday, and we're definitely not going to be catching up with the club this week and saying that I'm requesting a trade," Hill told 6PR

He won't be asking for a trade "this week". That isn't the same as he won't be asking for a trade.

Think I clarified that in my previous post after listening to whole interview.
I grabbed what I read from 6pr’s website hadn’t seen the article on AFL 360. So this was the full quote from the article that I read.

I speculated based on the clear mess Freo is in - rebuild, injuries, gameplan and the Lyon factor. That can affect player retention.

You assumed everything was tickety boo because Hill said he wasn't looking at a trade.

It don't change the mess they're in.

Well, reading between the lyons, there is a lot going on behind the steves scenes. My take on all this, is that we are either going to lose Hill & Langdon, or Rosich & Lyon. Do CH 7 have one of those phone poll things set up so Bell can decide what is the best option?

So we can sum up the last five pages of posts by concluding that B Hill May be going or he may be staying and the same can be said about T Kelly. Excellent stuff.

So there's talk now on the AFL web site that the saints are pushing hard to get Hill, the Saints will have a pick around 5 in the draft but they say the Saints might trade that pick for two later ones (12 and 14) from the Giants.
www.afl.com.au/news/2019-08-09/why-the-s...aving-cash-to-splash

So if the Saints offered something like pick 12 or 14 with Blake Acres would you take that for Hill ?

What would be the right trade value for Hill ?

What would be the right trade value for Langdon ?

This is actually one of the better reads from Mick Malthouse

Guts it out

"Speaking on ABC Radio, Malthouse says he’s sick of hearing about star players who want to cut short a contract.

“There’d be no deal (if Malthouse was in charge). I’d be saying no,” Malthouse said.

“You don’t move them on because someone wants to go home.

“Guts it out. We put up with this nonsense about we want to go home.”

Malthouse says the Dockers would only lose out on letting Hill walk.

“We’ve gone out of our way to get you for a five-year deal,” Malthouse said.

“You are 25 years of age, you’ve got six or seven very, very good years ahead of you.”"

Malthouse is a washed up has been struggling for relevance. Freo know they hold the whip in any trade for Hill, I find it more interesting that Cal Twoomey thinks a top 10 pick is too high a price for the saints to pay for Hill, I think their pick 5 is the starting point for negotiation. The lions gave up 6 & 19 to get Neale, we gave up 6 and 23 for Hogan.
