I reckon he’s a good coach, probably in the best 4 or 5 in the competition. There’s a fairly long list of spuds on our list and as soon as we got a few injuries things started falling apart pretty quickly. I almost think he has overachieved this year.
I call for his sacking most weekends but it’s usually in the aftermath of a loss when my brain is fried.

Please list the spuds. The playing list is pretty good IMHO.

You could have labelled Matera a spud last year and Colyer this year, but Matera has turned it around. I reckon Colyer will too.

Banfield and Crowden can't get a game, are they spuds? They weren't last season. The new players like Schultz aren't spuds. Other draftees are untried.

Sandi and Ballantyne are out the door, but Sandi is in the best 22, so are they spuds? Bennell was a spud but he is gorn.

Wilson is patchy and couldn't kick with his left foot on Saturday night but he isn't a spud. Darcy is a log but a very good tap ruckman. Perhaps Jones and Meek are spuds but they are backup.

Langdon is an endurance machine but he is a bit mediocre. I'd be happy to trade him if the Hill bros stay and are fit.

So, who are the spuds you're referring to?

How do you know that Roly hasn't being geeing up the Melbourne media with the intent of panicking the cretins in the club admin to extend his contract. Talk to some people, rumours get spread, big articles in the paper, a presser where he refused to answer any questions on talking to other clubs.

Maybe even a few phone calls to some ex-players to talk him a bit.

I'm not saying Roly is definitely driving this but its certainly putting pressure on Freo to make a decision.

Ross Lyon and Peter Bell have been seen together a lot lately, it could be that they're working on the strategy (does that count as an out?) but the rumour is that they've been seen holding hands down at cicerellos, a last ditch effort to show that our fish and chips are better than Lygon street (out number 2) or is something brewing down at Cockburn HQ?

CEO Steve Rosich hasn't been around for days, with some supporters saying he hasn't been seen managing the club for years. Could his time almost be up? Unlike Ross, he's not contracted so there would be no payout if he was to be forced out. Peter Bell would be the logical choice as interim CEO whilst they sourced a replacement. Recent comments from Ross Lyon show that he could be interested in a non coaching position and given his interest in staying in Perth, a vacant GM football position could be the ideal fit. The players have shown they love Ross Lyon, maybe because he doesn't care about wins and losses, or maybe because he thinks cobblers are critical to football and the last cobbler in Perth shut down in 1972. Who can say how things develop from here?
