DBTS, I thought going in with 3 rucks worked out surprisingly well. I guess we had to have 3, because Darcy on his own would be in trouble, and we couldn't be sure that Sandi or Lobb would run out the game.
But give Ross credit where it is due - it was a bold move and it worked.

I'm not convinced it worked roger. I think we won despite it. I shook my head a number of times when Lobb was in at the centre bounce and both Sandi and Darcy where in the forward 50. Admitedly it only happened a couple of times but it should never happen. The forward line became clogged and slow and scoring nigh on impossible.
I'd be happy to give it (playing 3 ruckmen) another try but at the times Lobb is called upon to ruck, one of the other two should be on the bench - whether their rotation time is up or not.

But look at this year , consider your own tipping and even the newspaper and internet tipping comps.
It appears 60% is the norm.
so very simple , the negative ones saying we will lose the lot means they may be 60% correct.

Darcy took one mark which was the precursor to him falconing himself off the goal post - nobody could ever say Freo doesn’t deliver the unusual...

I think his marking is a real problem. He is not great overhead, gets bumped off the ball by smaller players because he doesn’t anticipate contact (much like Zac Clarke) and he has a bad habit of using his hands to push his opponent in the back to get him under the ball.

He is also very slow when the ball hits the deck out of his reach. These things may be the product of youth and/or not being fully fit. I hope that’s the case. I want Lobb to be able
to play permanently forward next season.

I think, when he gets pushed out of position when hthe footy is 40 ish yards away, he (like Sandi, Hogan, Tabs and a few others) would expect to get a free kick. I don't think he is hopeless at ground level, not many players can control the footy when it comes to ground out of their reach.

DBTS I agree with you, Lyon is an idiot, however if you read the votes, and my post, properly, you would realise only 1 coach rated Darcy and I think that coach was Longmire.
