Well said!
That performance certainly put any doubt about Ross's coaching and our list to bed. Stunning performance against quality opposition. We are on the right track and I see the pathway to 2020 glory clear as day now.

Bring it on!

Conca played a pretty good game

Some of the work Sandilands dos basically got us over the line

Hamling must of been close to our best player along with Lobb

A fairly sloppy game from a skill perspective especially kicking........

Pretty harsh there Yeti, Cogee is sharing another perspective. I’m not really in his corner but definitely one that doesn’t get much traction on here lately. I can completely get his trying to push back against some of the negativity, it’s been pretty bleak lately.
The win wasn’t convincing although there were glimpses of something better. Logue showed quite a bit, Lobb was excellent. How good was it to see Sandi again, I love him. The team doesn’t always need Fyfe destroying himself, busting through congestion, give him time away from the stoppage, where he can take advantage of his aerial ability. Brayshaw played well. Hamling and Ryan played their hearts out. Mundy was back in top notch form. Blakeley got better as the game went on.I think Lyon even had a win with the three rucks, it was ugly but ultimately I think won us the game.
In reality it was a win at home by a point against the 14th team in which we scored less than 60 points.

DbtS,

I'm at a point where I will no longer accept being called a 'bad supporter', 'slime supporter' or just being a target for somebody who wants to decide what we can or cannot do.

You can encourage people to support the club or you can make attacks on other supporters because you maintain a narrow view of what is acceptable. If you want to dish out that stuff, you don't get to complain when people respond.

The good news is that Ross has been vindicated by that win and all criticism, past and future, is now null and void.

The bad news is, 30 thousand people were reduced to cheering for a ball to roll right and scrape in for a point rather than left and go out of bounds, to level the scores in a 7 goal game on a dry night.

The good: Will not let the (Yeti) negativity dampen my (small bit) lifted spirits with the win.

The not so good: There are bits of truth in the negativity.

The better: Effort in last quarter and the defense.

The Good.
I] Proved the coach & selectors wrong. Fyfe does not have to play in the midfield for us to win.
II] We can win a game with 2 ruckman playing in the same side.
III] Logue can play footy, and does like to run through people.

The Bad
I] We can not win a game with 2 ruckmen playing all game as ruckmen. We need a tall forward to play in the ruck.
II] Skills are still not a priority.
III] A viable forward line is still considered a luxury.

This game didn’t convince me that Sandi, Darcy and Lobb tucking in the same side is a winner. If they play together Lobb has to be a permanent forward with Sandi and Darcy rotating off the bench. All three on the ground at the same time makes us too slow. Unfortunately Darcy and Sandi’s best work as forwards is to bring the ball to ground - they are not great marks or reliable kicks on goal.

WTB I completely agree but it did show that we are much better with a tall target even though this particular combination is far from perfect.

Well, Gerard H, I think if Sandi & Darcy had played as ruckmen, & Lobb had played as a permanent forward, the resting ruck would allow Cammac to play his natural game instead of trying to be the 2nd tall forward. But we never got to see if that would work.

After seeing the replay, it confirmed in my mind that the effort was there all game, so that was a big positive for me. It was a close, hard fought game, but sometimes the comments remind me of a bloke who sits near me at the footy. With every mistake the guy yells at how bad the player is or how bad Freo is. Yet, when a Freo player does something really good - and the Logue five-effort defensive chase happened right in front of us - silence from him.

Hang on, just doing a search....

Nope, no positive comments from Jooter about Logue's five-effort defensive chase.
