So that's three vacant positions in Victoria.

Let's say the Fremantle board have decided Lyon is no longer their man but are unwilling / unable to pay out his contract, do you sit him down and say, "I think it's time Ross, can we come to an agreement?"

Lyon would be a good chance at two of three clubs and the third club takes another out of the market. He's then weighing up a one year guarantee at Freo with the chance of coaching a Vic club for three.

Yes agree hypen. The three current clubs all seem to want experienced coaches which increases his cache. If Fremantle lose this weekend I expect him to be let go. It is Fremantle though so logic can be thrown out the door. The question is who takes over in the interim.
