Ok, I've had time to recover. Some points:
i) The umpiring was rubbish. Cam McCarthy gets slung without the ball in front of goals - play on. We catch Jarod Cameron in front of goals, should be holding the ball, but he gets a miraculous free kick.
ii) Notacluey loves the rule that lets the ruckman take the ball out of the ruck. And the only time we lay a solid tackle on him when he does it, somehow turns into a free kick to him. But we lost the game because of the centre clearances in the 2nd quarter. And NN did that. Ross had no answer, and we needed one.
iii) Shots on goal. If you read the worst today, every shot on goal has a probability of being a goal, being a point, going out on the full etc etc. That probability is based on past shots, and is determined by where a players is, the pressure on him etc etc. And apparently if all the shots on goal in the game had followed these probabilities, we would have lost by 3 goals. And this fits with the rest of the game stats which showed us being not quite as strong as them.
iv) While I'd be happy for Lyon to go, I'd be very unhappy if he went and Rosich stayed. The problems start at the top. Indeed as someone said, get Freo out from under the WAFC.
v) Nyhuis and Duman should have played in defence. Cera and Blakely help out midfield. Logue and Colyer back at Peel. I have no idea why Ross doesn't like Nyhuis, but I reckon Ross is just plain wrong.
