But this is where it starts:
First - Big Hearted Jeremy McMaccas sends the kid an apology, asks about his welfare. The text gets sent out across the Twittershere.
Second - NicNatter pops in on the kid's parents to just check that everything's ok - a photographer from the Worst happens to be behind the front hedge and takes a cracking photo of Nicker with the family dog, smiling with the kid's Mum hugging him. The Twittershere goes into meltdown, the Worst tries to bury the picture behind their new paywall but can only attract one new subscriber - an old age pensioner who figures the subscription will give him a pile of fresh liners for his tomcat's litter tray in the laundry.
Third - Basil and Channel Eagle do a human interest story on how Jeremy McMaccas grew up as a shy kid that read all sorts of books in the Spearwood library all by himself so that one day he could join a humanitarian group that digs water wells for a leper colony in west Africa.
Finally - Adam Simmo comes out and says how Jeremy McMaccas is so contrite he has locked himself into his bathroom and wouldn't even go out and get his free burgers from Hungry Maccas after the game. It's going to be tough on Macca McBurger and his family, the organisation are throwing their arms around the gentle intercept marking machine to help him through his terrible days of worry and regret. Guelphy's dog is going to play golf with Jeremy McMaccas cousin, all will be good.
Nissy gets their bully QC to front up to the Tribunal and the charge gets thrown out.
