I'm struggling to muster the energy and will to support my own team. To spend energy on antisupport for Lachie Neale just seems stupid.

Then again, there's been a fair bit of stupid going 'round my club for 25 years.

I'll be booing.

Neale had every right to do what was best for him, I hold no ill-will towards him at all, and I still think that in the long run we'll be better off with Hogan than Neale (although i know it wasn't a straight swap). If I saw him I'd probably shake his hand and say thanks for everything.

But on Sunday I'll be wearing a Freo jumper and he'll be wearing a pretty cool looking indigenous Brisbane jumper (that still has a symbol of the invading English on it....which feels weird), and so the pantomime conventions of football dictate that I voice my displeasure that he chose to walk out on the club I support.

I never particularly liked him, so its hard to summon the energy to boo him. But if he gets a dodgy free kick in front of goals for the decider after the siren has gone, then I'll boo him.

I won't boo him. That would be tawdry.

He gave 100% for us while he was here, so nobody can criticise his commitment to Freo and was perhaps our most effective on-field leader.

He left either for money or issues at the club or both but he has always been professional in his dealings before and after leaving. No sniping, no cheap jibes... just a professional going about his job.

He deserves better than the weasles treatment. He's earned the respect
