Completely agree Salty. Played two good games and not good last week, but he certainly wasn't on his own in that backline.
Every club seems to have a player that the coach doesn't see much in, or is first on the chopping block, while others can produce a few bad performances in a row and still keep their place. e.g. Tucker

How much fun is it going to be if Hypen mentions Baguley and Begley in a post, eh?

I'd be persevering with Nyhuis especially at Docklands. He kept Betts to one goal only two weeks ago.

I'm not so sure Nyhuis kept Betts to one goal as much as the style of game play and Betts struggling for form at almost 33yrs old kept him to one goal.

Nyhuis was terrible last week though, Richmond's small forwards absolutely smashed us and I'm not sure Nyhuis was even on the field most of the game with how little he was seen. 4 handballs and a kick are not good enough even when playing a shut down role (that he also failed at).

He doesn't really deserve to hold out Duman after that performance.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

I was at the Adelaide game and I can assure you Nyhuis was the reason that Betts was so quiet. His work at stoppages was very impressive. The reaction from the other Adelaide forwards to Nyhuis made it clear they thought so as well. He was quiet last week against Richmond but he wasn't on his own on that one.

Nyhuis is a bit like Lee Spurr, but not quite as consistent at the moment. Still young. He has the misfortune to be pitted against another really good defender who is ready to come in. Good to have competition for spots.

Now I'm hesitant to quote Hackdorn, but for those of us for whom Steve-driven disdain for club tradition and totems is burned into our collective memory, there is something compelling about his rumour that Harvey's sacking has been circulated at Essendon in advance of this particular game. Whatever you think about him, Harvey had integrity, and his masters showed little at that time.
Whatever. I don't want to see another ambush where they get out to a game-long lead.

I do want to see fire instilled in players, so they are up for it from the first bounce, with desire and smarts to help each other and move the ball coherently. Do it Ross.

Looking forward to seeing how Ed Langdon goes as our new Centre Half Forward.

Ross will be too busy checking beep test results and KPI's to fire the boys up before the game. Just one more thing left for the players to do in their own time, along with marking, kicking, handpassing and goalkicking practise.

Who are the umpires? Not that I’m nervous or slightly petrified!! At least the two Worst are at Optus!!

Damn right they are, Snail, and up their usual tricks, too. Every single 50:50 decision falling in the Weagles favour, Melbung tackles not called, habitual head ducking by EGirls players rewarded with frees and my biggest dislike? Twice I've seen marks taken in front of Tubby McGoven, only for him to be allowed to punch the ball out of the player's hands and Dalgleish calls "play on, play on".

I don't understand why a West Australian team can be playing a Friday night game in Perth, with 2 out of 3 umpires being locally based, and one of those umpires actually training with WCE pre-season. So dodgy, it's laughable.

Bit harsh on Nyhuis. May have been down last week tho thought he kept Higgins down reasonably well. Hopefully it makes him hungrier as like his toughness
