Keef, as old and pickled as he his, will still spend a month in the studio 'warming up' before going on a Stones tour. He's 135 or so in junkie years or something, so it takes time to grind out the groove. Another guitar player, Tommy Emmanuel, far less pickled and younger, practices his skills every single day.
These blokes are masters at what they do. They still need to practice to keep at that level. You practice the things you find harder to do consistently, otherwise you're not improving.
If they were coached by Ross Lyon they'd be finessing their sets lists, stagecraft and audience engagement, and half way though a tour, they'd wonder why they suck at the stuff people came and paid to watch.
