We are lucky that Ross is coaching better than he ever has or we would have been thrashed !

Is he still tanking ?

Random thoughts-

I am worried about Brayshaw. He finds the footy in tight, gets out of trouble, and then turns the ball over when not under pressure. I think he needs a break at Peel- still very young.

I never saw much of Colyer at Essendon but after 6 games I am fairly sure he is not an afl footballer. Turns it over relentlessly.

Ditto Langdon. Too good to drop but his disposal is really pretty poor and he has started to fumble alot.

Conca tries hard but I am not sure he is a better choice at the moment than playing a kid like Crowden or Giro.

Hogan looks disinterested, although I am fairly sure he is shocked at how poorly the ball is delivered to him.Us fans aren't shocked though. Get used to it Jesse.

Selectors erred big time not playing Blakeley and Mccarthy. Blakely is a walk up start every week and Mccarthy has been trying his ass off but things haven't fallen his way recently. Needed to win this one to play finals.

I just saw blokes that looked shot. Whether they should have been is debatable. But they were . And allowing Grimes to play his own game out there in the first half was disappointing.

Richmond were awesome.

You might be right Hypen.

It was a frustrating game because to me so often it looked like we had players in the right spot and just needed a good handball or a bit of composure and we would have been away.

Richmond on the other hand seemed to be a bit better at knocking the ball to the right spot, and a lot better at executing the kick from 75m out.

I thought Richmond really looked up for it today. They deserve some credit.

You're seeing stuff that I'm not seeing duddy.

We looked pretty much like the last few years but with better key personnel.

Today we looked poorly organised and poorly skilled. We actually had more inside 50s than Richmond. Richmond were away from home, down 4 of their best 22 and lost 2 men in the first half and they still outran us.

If thats your idea of 'showing a fair bit' then it's not a bit that I want shown

Hypen's right. I can see grinding your players into the ground in a dour contest that you end up losing. But you gotta ask yourself, is it worth two losses, or three?

Stats: we had more contested possessions, more I50s but Richmond were in Premiership mode today and hunted in packs. We couldn't get clean ball at all though tried harder to move the ball quickly and get numbers to the ball. Ross will be pleased with the effort but we couldn't match their run to create space, and pinpoint skills leading at the ball carrier. Richmond will beat most teams playing that brand, we will beat lesser teams playing ours. People were saying we'll know where we after the next 2-3 games, well I think that question has been answered.

Tigers are a very speedy side. They had our measure today and were dead-eye when going for goals. We had plenty of chances but kicked poorly.

We need a cool headed Lobb in the forward line, not a burnt out resting Lobb. Bring back Darcy.
Blakely would have waxed this game and may have contributed more to helping us defend the onslaught.

Surely 2 or 3 changes coming next week, otherwise I'll eat my hat!!
