True, but the push and shove BS prior to the incident was just as dangerous, i.e. insignificant gamesmanship. I'm sure most of us on here have played at some level. Incidents such as this I always thought were a bit of fun. Nobody hurt, shake hands at the final siren, and ideally have a beer or a cup of tea, hopefully with the umpire(s). I don't condone violence in any way, but FFS, can some common sense come into play here.

So Macd it is ok for Dangerfield to do it, Martin to do it, but not Duman? We have seen almost identical incidents 3 weeks in a row, with Freo again coming out with the heaviest punishment. Sure I could agree Duman deserved it for hitting that sook, BUT what I am arguing against here is the complete lack of equality shown to Freo. By the way it is not a 1 off occurrence, we see it happen regularly.

I totally agree, Mac, but this stuff happens. I'm sure they have a laugh about it post match. I don't believe the players want to see anybody hurt through acts of violence, but I'm sure they all enjoy that push and shove, sniping, and banter that goes with the game, as long as it doesn't cross the boundaries in respect to race or religion. I think the biggest issues originate from the other side of the fence, and those responsible, when caught should be outed, not banned in anonymity as has happened recently. Public shaming is the answer.

Mac I completely agree, Duman shouldn’t have struck his opponent in the head and deserves to be banned. I would have thought Cunnington deserved a week, had this gone through, I would then have thought both Dusty and Duman get two. With Richmond able to argue Dusty down to one Duman’s incident should also get a week.
In my opinion Dangerfield’s was slightly different and on the lower end.
I struggle to apply any logic to these decisions and honestly believe that the MRP feels they can penalise our players without fear of any noise.

I don't really have much to say on this one RM, and I haven't really been following tribunal decisions much this year.

I reckon I'd argue on the medium contact part. Sure Whitfield went down, but this was a bloke who publicly stated he hid at an assistant coach's house rather than face up to his girlfriend to break up with her, so it's obvious he's either very soft of a rank coward.

I don't love players missing games for soft off-the-ball stuff, but I agree you can't go whacking people around the head. I think a week would have been sufficient to send that message.

I’m sure many members believe the administration of the football club exists to benefit the players on field success and the satisfaction of the membership and that the administration has no other more important tasks than to achieve these aims, all on the back of our hard earned and that of the sponsors. Even if the course of events that took place were unnecessary at least fly the flag for Fremantle to show that we should be treated with the same consideration as other members of the same competition.
