Morgan - it's been my observation that we generally sit in the worst 5-6 teams for total injuries most of the time. There are often a few teams worse off than us, and always a large number better off.
But the thing is, the other 5-6 clustered around us tend to change, round to round, season to season, but we stay anchored in that group.
We also don't seem to list all our injuries, which makes it hard to track - Valente is a case in point. We often seem to have players that are mysteriously not playing for Freo or Peel, but aren't on the injury list. Now it may be that all clubs do this. Not sure why they would though?
But when you take out the ACLs and the breaks, which are generally one off incidents with long term repercussions, we seem to have far more than our share of players who continually re-injure themselves and spend extended time away from the game. And it seems to happen a lot before they come back in to match play.
But even if we are just in the normal/midrange for these injuries as you claim - is there anything wrong with wanting to be the best? To be a competition leader in managing injuries and recovery? Even you can't possibly claim that we are anywhere near that. But shouldn't we be striving for that?
We have state of the art facilities, money to spend on the medical staff - Why should we accept anything less than excellence? Why would you want us to?
