Oh come on. It was a good game of footy where we put in an excellent effort and got a lot closer than almost everyone thought we would. But we're still supposed to not notice the positives?
Once upon a time, we'd analyse the game, talk about who played well and who played badly, talk about tactical successes and failures, you know, the good stuff. Now it is all non-stop doom and gloom.
If I was a West Coast supporter, I'd be pretty happy to have scraped over the line. If I analysed it, I'd be wishing that Lewis Jetta was in the team, because watching their sublime skills as they chipped it around the backline waiting for a non-existent opening to appear was pretty disheartening - for them.
And note that I'm not praising Ross. I've no idea what he did, and whether it was good, bad or indifferent. I just watched our guys play pretty well against the reigning premiers, and I thought our guys did great. Switkowski looked right at home. Mundy was awesome. Tabs can't kick goals, but overall this was the best game I've seen him play. Bradley Hill was well held, but still got involved. Alex Pearce really played well after a couple of average games.
I could go on, but when everything is reduced to "Ross is a crap coach with a crap game plan, so I'm not even going to bother noticing what is happening out there", then I reckon you've lost something.
*Edit*, and then I read Cletus going in for some sensible discussion.
