Yeti when the Saints players set fire to a short person Ross Lyon was coaching our club, not theirs.

They need to take better care of the kids, yes even at 24 Jesse's a kid - hanging him out to dry in public to make a point is ugly. I don't like it. Period.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the club is trying to protect Hogan as best they can. Instead of the story being drunken docker involved in skirmish it becomes troubled docker needs help.

I don't necessarily agree with the story and the making of excuses because I'm somewhat old school, but I certainly believe in clubs doing what they think is best to protect their players.

In terms of what this means for Freo, you play with the cards you're dealt, plenty of players have jumped at their chance in situations like this and I think we've got some players capable of standing up.

What does it mean for Ross? There's a lot of people on here writing us off (regardless of reason) so for me it becomes a matter of effort. If I can see 100% effort, and a group of guys with nothing left to give, Ross gets to keep his job, regardless of results. If I see players heads dropping during the game, time for some new blood!

I'm well aware of that, flag, as I'm also well aware that the culture that existed under Roly's tenure didn't get magically fixed when he left.

These things do take a while to become apparent and they do take a while to repair.

I think that's fair to point, Strado, but they needed to go on to say that it is disciplinary action that will see him miss the game this week. He is out because he missed training, not because of anxiety.

To give themselves media cover they've created a stigma around his mental illness issues, as if it is causing him to be he's unfit to play this week. Not putting a timeline on the punishment makes it look like it's an unmanageable issue, and makes him look mentally incapacitated. The reason he drank too much against his best interests may have been the anxiety but the reason he's not able to play on the weekend is the punishment. It should be a fixed number of weeks with the usual conditions attached.

It's not doing anyone any favours when you treat mental illnesses as a mysterious untreatable affliction.

From what I have heard and read it seems he drinks because of anxiety ...like many people. In doing so on Saturday night this caused him to miss a critical training session for a game for which he’s been training for many months, and getting paid shed loads.

Time to change.

I don’t think he will but hope I am wrong.

Pollyanna the club has been under pressure, the leadership group was under pressure because of the noise made by incoming social media...which was going to the media as well.

Neale decision to leave also was for the lack of professional and disciplinary standards since Pav's departure and was concerned for the young players.

Bradley Hill is a good example last year of a guy who just thought the club needs me and my ego.

We need a accountable captain who wants the responsibility to put the fear into players who steps out of line and ain't a team player.

I knew it. It's all Nat Fyfe's fault.

Oh for the scandal free halcyon days of Matthew Pavlich's captaincy.
