100% agree with that. You can blabber about game plans, skill training, style of play, whatever, but you need a solid core of experience and strong bodies to play at a high level. You also must have a bunch of guys who have played to a system together for a few years and aren't just making it up as they go.

100 game players? It's another buzz phrase for RL to parrot and try to convince everyone he's doing great.

Our first 22 has a tonne of 100 gamers in it. The only kids who are likely to get a go in a fit starting side are Cerra, Brayshaw, Banfield and Cox. We've spent the past few years turfing all of our 100 gamers anyway, if that's all it took then they should be fighting to get more, not kicking them out of the club.

The 100 game players concept seems like another on of those football industry correlation and causation puzzles. Like midfielders kicking goals or forwards who lay a lot of tackles.

Some of the less smart teams think that it's like a secret formula and if you can match the stats up to the formula you win.

Our current list of 100 game players (or thereabouts) sits at 10, but I reckon only about 7 will be regulars next year, and that's excluing injuries.

You can’t buy experience. The club has had to fast track our youngsters. We’re a young inexperienced team in terms of games played. The likes of Hogan, Lobb, Hamling, are still relatively inexperienced. The Hawks don’t play to many debutants. If they do they would’ve had to ply their trade in the twos for a significant amount of time.

Games played are not the only measure of experience either, we have many mature age players who have played fewer AFL games or blokes who are older but haven't had much opportunity due to injuries and a lack of outstanding ability.

The point is, our age/experience profile isn't really too different to most sides. It's not a reason we've been so poor the past few years and not an indication we're going to dramatically rise in the future.
