Nine executives were flabbergasted when CA's executive general manager of media, communications and marketing Ben Amarfio approached them earlier this year as an agent of then contracted Nine talent James Brayshaw in the midst of the cricket and AFL commentator's contraction negotiations. Nine refused to deal with Amarfio on the matter. Amarfio also contacted at least one of Nine's rivals (purportedly) on Brayshaw's behalf.
You look at things like that, and Mclachlan with his Nanny business and a thousand other little deals, Gary Lyon getting work, Ross Lyon offering James Hird a job that doesn't seem to exist any more and you realise that Australian sports administration is corrupt to it's core. It's all favours for mates and side deals. No conflict of interest is too big, no favour too small.
Back to the article though, Brayshaw didn't get that contract and Channel 9 didn't get the next cricket rights deal.
