Our first pick is at 14 which is likely to move back a few with all of Blakey, Thomas and West likely to receive bids by then. That makes it effectively pick 17.
I have Hill around the 25 mark so it would probably be a reach for him although I know many on here are scared of the go home factor. I don't worry about it much, Perth is a great place to live and should be an easy sell to most kids, especially if you treat them well. Even if they do go, you should be able to get something good back. I believe you get the best available.
Clark is likely to be gone by 17 but he'd be my favourite over Hill given his size and readiness for AFL. His disposal is very good, he makes fantastic decisions and has a football brain. He knows where to go to get the ball and what to do with it. I see him as a midfielder at AFL level but he can develop from half back first. I reckon he's in a similar mould to a Mundy (who went at pick 19 in his draft) where he was drafted as a defender but had the brain and ability to move into the middle and play as both an in and outside mid.
There's a few Victorian inside mids who I'd grab next if available like Stocker and Caldwell. Again, I don't think they'll be there at our pick but if they were, I wouldn't hesitate to replace Neale with them.
Hill probably won't get through to our next pick but I'd give it a chance. I don't see West Coast grabbing him in the early 20's, especially with Rioli and Ryan up forward. If an interstate side grabs him though, he'd be a good chance to be heading back our way in a couple of years time to play with his cousins. On his size and ability at the moment, I don't see him getting many opportunities in his first couple of seasons so he could be a bargain trade for us in the future.
