Jason people generally toe the party line but there may have been something in Brisbane's charm offensive. Sometimes when you're esteemed highly from the outset, that respect gets you thinking about where your place is. Apparently his gf wants to go to Brisbane too, and why not. It's what young people do: travel and see new places.

That chapter closes, and we turn to hope-in-the-future. that perennial Docker salve for years of under-performance. It's not going to be just about wins though. It will be about game style, with focus on the coaches.

I think that happened, for a lot of the constant critics on here, about 5 min after Harvey got sacked/5 mins after Lyon was signed.

That we had the most successful period in the club’s history after that seems to be overlooked in favour of criticising:

the change in jumper,
the move out to the best AFL training facility in the country,
the coach,
the game plan,
the CEO,
the Football Manager,
the Strength & Conditioning staff

The Neale deal shouldn’t be looked at in isolation. We need to look at the net trade period. On paper I think we did ok but the success of this trade period will be heavily judged on Hogan’s recovery from injury.

My god there is going to be some reckoning on the humble pie front if Rosco takes this committed and magnificently topped up squad back up to the pointy end next season. By that I mean finals.

Most of the hard core negative posters were adamant Steve and Belly wouldn’t get a good outcome for Freo this draft period and it’s turned out to be the opposite.

The benefit of being an optimist in situations like this is if Roly succeeds, our support of him and the club’s direction is vindicated. If he doesn’t, then at least the next bloke inherits a list truly capable of success and I’ll back him in too.

Win-win as I see it.

Lachie Neale talked about the ‘Elephant in the room” at the Doig as to if he was leaving. I think what everyone wants to know now is why exactly did he leave? There was no go home factor, we think money wasn’t the issue and he was still contracted. Do we as supporters deserve a proper explanation from the club as to why he has left?
