Number of games played is not always the best measure of future potential.
As most big blokes take until their early to mid 20’s to really develop into genuine, A-grade players. If a club has the luxury of holding these blokes back in the two’s to learn their craft, they do.
That was the case with GWS in their early days which is why Lobb only played 11 games in his first 2 seasons. Since then, he’s played 63 games out of a possible 72. That’s just under 90% availability - something our big blokes can only dream of, at present.
So I’d argue Lobb is just coming into his prime, is a a better overhead mark already than our own 211 and still has plenty of upside.
He’ll be a handy ruck back-up to Darcy & Tabs, long-term, and will give us another genuine talll forward marking option.
I’d prefer we also get Hogan but not if it means we lose all of our early draft picks in the process.
