Outrageous stuff coming out of the Kelly camp with his manager Anthony Van der Weilen tipping a bucketload over the club saying that he Kelly would not be going to Fremantle because he's had players there and they would be a very good fit for Kelly. I'm wondering as Harry Highpants pointed out on 9's trade show, how this could affect VDW's dealings with Freo in the future. Also when Belly seemed to put a line through Kelly's name earlier was he aware of this guy's opinions on our club.

It seems that it is all just mind games with the managers. Say he doesn't want to go to Freo in the hope that we offer more money to overcome his "dislike" of us.

I'm not sure Corp, I've been trying to think who they could be and they were probably ones who he couldn't get the best deal from us. I thought maybe Paul Hasleby but I think that was Paul Connors.
Hang on I've just found it- Scott Thornton, Jeff Farmer, Andrew Foster, Anthony Grover, Paul Hasleby and Hayden Schloite. That's off VDW's website which includes testimonials. Looking at the names I'd say some rather large scores to settle there. No hope of Kelly coming to us.
And another one, AFLW player Akec Makur Chuot delisted last season. All of these are former Freo players and no mention of any current Freo players on his management list Other notable clients, Glen Jakovich, Adam Hunter and Andrew Embley.

The actual quote off Fox Footy was "He is not going to Fremantle I have had players there and I don't think they are an attractive proposition for him. He will go West Coast and if he doesn't he will be playing at Geelong then he will leave the year after."
So he's basically bagging Freo and then saying Kelly goes to Weagles or stays at Geelong. It's more about getting to Weagles than homesickness and VDW is putting in his own little 2 cents worth at Fremantle's expense.

Or is it more about saying I want to go to a well run club with premiership prospects than Fremantle.

Tim should assess his management's decision of not making Fremantle a destination.
He will be stuck at Geelong as the Eagles will offer will be average as they don't have another club bidding.
Geelong knows he wants to move so package him a trade to the Gold Coast.

I haven't got a problem with Tim deciding that he wants to go to the Weagles or his reasons, he barracked for them as a kid, they've won more premierships, he prefers to the coach, the team mates, the culture(??). I've just got a big problem with his manager making comments that seem to suggest he's got an axe to grind with the club with no actual statement of fact for his reasoning.

VdW's had an anti Freo bent for years.

Look on the bright side, at least we can start drawing lines through any of this years draftees who have this muppet as manager.

Going through that list, only Hasleby, Wiz & Grover actually played well for us.

Or another way to look at it is VDW clients are just as likely to be teasing, list cloggers for us as they are to be genuine AFL players.

During a rebuild, I’d like better odds than that.

Kelly has a nutter for a manager.

He's just limited his client to where he can go and reduced his chances of negotiating a better deal. The slime have no real competition so less incentive to offer big dollars to attract a sure thing.

He doesn't have to come here. He just needs to have that option on the table to attract better offers. His manager needs to think about that rather than grinding a personal axe on his client's time
