If Conca is willing to come to Freo on a reasonable contract I don't see why we wouldn't take him. Our midfield depth wasn't great last year, even with Neale in the team. He's hard at it, and if you've got a midfield with young guys like Brayshaw and Cerra running through it to me it makes sense to have a hard nut running support.

I reckon he'll be the Adam McPhee of the midfield, which most will take as a diss, but I mean as a compliment.

I hope Freo are going in hard for Marcus Adams. I'm not sure what on earth we could offer the bulldogs, and he is also injury prone, but he is a very good kpp when firing and god only knows we need them.

Looking at the replay though, who knows what was going on in the clinch beforehand (other than exposure of skinfolds)?

I actually like Conca, he is versatile can play half forward, half back and go for stints in the midfield. He's no superstar but he doesn't cost any draft pick and will add to our depth.. Yeah I say we can bring in Hogan and then maybe stick to youngster's in the draft after that.

If the rumours are to be believed, there isn't a player in the league that didn't want to smack those mouthy GWS guys upside the head. Now that Conca is unofficially a Docker, it seems obvious in retrosepct that Devom Smith probably eye gouged him through the jumper.

I agree with Detox - Conca costs nothing in the draft and probably a only a modicum of money in the salary cap. He gives us some depth, some utility and some experience including finals experience (which might or might not be relevant!.) Welcome to Freo Reece Conca.

Those questioning our earlier list decisions and now our current ones raise a valid point.

What was our list management strategy prior to this?

What is it now? Have we changed what our plan is?

We could have kept the kind of player we are now seeking to trade in and it would have been cheaper. I'd love to know the thinking behind it all.
