Solid batting from the West who introduce him thus:

"Australian Rules Hall of Famer Terry Wallace..."

Because "Failed coach and all round Captain Obvious..." has a lesser ring.

Everybody likes to get stuck into Terry Wallet...and fair enough really because...well he deserves it.

But the second thing that comes to mind is he is the second last coach that I can remember that followed a 5 year plan to a premiership. Or tried to anyway.

I'll let you guess who the last coach is to follow that idea

Media reports this morning now having Weagles declaring an interest in Jesse. Worst case scenario for us following trade week. Jesse and Lobb to West Coast, Freo minus Lachie and big pick up Reece Conca. Not the headlines I want to read. Our guys need to put heavy work into these deals to get done ASAP next week, if not Friday.

Plough's probably one of the most overrated coach's in AFL history and his opinions should be treated with a very large grain of salt.

Should read "one of the two most overrated coaches in AFL history...…."

Yeti, does that also give the correct answer to your riddle?

All I'm saying, RM, is that perhaps coaches should steer clear of 5 year plans.

It's a great way to bitten on the a**

This is good news. His price is way too high, he is injury prone and there’s a Croad/Tarrant smell about the deal. Let the Eagles have him, the Dockers forward line of Taberner, Cox, McCarhy and Apeness is coming along nicely. Just keep Walters there as well.

Walba was that sarcastica font moment needed? How can you say Apeness is coming along fine when he 's played nine games in five years?
Cox can barely kick more than 30 metres and when he does he invariably misses. 18 goals from 16 games is nowhere near what we want and need from a key forward.
You just want more of what we've had for the last three years? Everybody knows our forward line is weak, possibly the weakest in the competition. Our % is always terrible.
We need another key forward more than anything. Even Roly knows that and has called it.

Even better news would be if the Egulls are forced to make ridiculously over-the-top offers to "steal" Jesse the Crock & Rory Lobb away from Freo. They're probably already busting their wage cap, just to keep their premiership stealing team together. A win-win for the Dockers.

The only way the Slime would have a chance at Hogan is that they flip their compensation pick for Gaff with another club and get 2 first round picks to satisfy Melb, or one high draft pick and possibly a player etc. Plus I think they're heavily into Tim Kelly and trying to satisfy Geelong's loss for Kelly. As for Lobb, they probably could do without him because of his price tag and rather go down the Roughhead or Hickey path at a much lower price which given what they've done for Vardy, a steal.

So basically, Freo are the front runners for both those players. But at what cost. That's a big worry for mine. Clearly, LN going will give us some nice picks to get either Hogan or Lobb, but not both.

I'm amazed that the club doesn't put up Harley Bennell up for a straight the trade for Hogan. Or do you prefer the devil you know.
October 2013 Herald Sun ( Not sure if it was in the Comic section)
BOOM Fremantle recruit Colin Sylvia turns a Docker with a bold confession that his best football is yet to come.
Sylvia, 27, joins this year’s premiership runners-up as an unrestricted free agent and revealed that Fremantle was his club of choice after careful consideration to end his 10-year stay and 157 games at a strife-torn Melbourne.
The Dockers are also expected to add injury-prone forward Scott Gumbleton to their list for 2014 before the end of this week's AFL trading period.

Of course West Coast would be into Hogan. He is a 23 year old key forward, who is a much better player than Kennedy was at the same age.

I just don't understand the negativity about him on here. He's a gun, and there's a chance he wants to play for Freo. There's also a chance this has lined up when Melbourne are willing to part with him, they have someone else in May they are into, and we have both the picks and salary cap space to make it happen.

West Coast probably don't have as much to give, and it would be a clunky fit with both Kennedy and Darling in the team. In a year from now, I'm not sure that stops West Coast making a serious play.
