Well I'd be happy to tell Fyfey that he is a frickin' hopeless kick for goal and he needs to paractice a bit more. He - as captain ...and chief example setter - needs to be better than 11.11. ( I figure this to be 50% accuracy but AFL website recons its 41%. Must be a coupla out of bounds included in that. )
In fact, I'd be happy enough to tell all our forwards that they all are bloody hopeless kicks, and that they all need to 'scrub up ' a bit.
Happy to exclude Mundy from that. - he's top shelf...having said that, hes 19.13 for the year and AFL reckons thats 46%...
Having said that...as a team, our scoring accuracy is 46% compared to a competition average of 47%.
These are startling figures! ...why is something that is 1) repeatable 2) fundamental, and 3) 'practiced' , ...so poorly executed 'on average' by all.
I mean , Hawthorn & Collingwood top the comp with 50%....???!!!!
And heres the thing....surely as a team, goal kicking is something we can aim at 'doing the job better'.? Surely its just a matter of practice and routine...and just hard work??
Surely this is a skill that can be pushed to 60 - 70% ....and could it be something :
1) Freo could work at and improve, and,
2) Be ' Competition Best ' at
Is it not something we could aim at being 'competition's best', and 'set the standard' ??
Obviously, any team could also do this....but when we are struggling to be 'good at anything other than clangers & turnovers', surely its a small 'target' we could aim at, that has great consequences.
Anyhow, Fyfe needs to improve his goal kicking, and he should practice more. Get off the catwalk and surfboard, and go and have a few shots....
