We wouldn't draft three KPF's in the first 5 picks but you'd be silly not to pick up Lukosius at 1. In this scenario where we have Brisbane's pick and ours to follow Carlton's, I'd ideally like to pick up a King brother and Rankine with Lukosius but it'd depend very much on GC ahead of us. I can't see them not grabbing both King's with Lynch and potentially May out the door but on the other hand it'd be hard for them to pass up Walsh. The King's at CHF/B could be a dynasty type thing at the Suns and with them together, you'd have to back yourself to retain them.
In reality, Carlton don't need the first pick and would probably be better served with a proven talented mid like Cerra to aid Cripps, SPS, Dow and Fisher. They have some very talented young KPF's showing plenty in Curnow and Mckay so there's no need to maintain a top 5 pick where the best talent are KPF's. Cerra would fit their age range better too with a year extra in the system. I also can't understand them chasing McGovern given their tall stocks but I'd hope they don't sacrifice that No1 pick for him.
I still believe we're better off holding Cerra if we can get pen to paper but if he's going to go, now is the time while Carlton hold the number 1 pick and Lukosius is there for the taking.
