The Worst have it on their site too now.

But just because the media are now on a self-created feeding frenzy doesn’t make it any more real.

But I really hope that it’s just part and parcel of the off-season rumour mill and that, like the Brad Hill wants out story (wasn’t Brisvegas in that too?) - it’s all just a distraction away from their own issue of their former captain wanting out.

If we can get pick 4 and a third rounder for Lachie (we do it)
Then we are in for a true re-build. Forget the Hipwood trade back - Brisbane are zero chance of letting him go..
Just take the picks..
Personally I would love to go to the footy if we have pick 4 and 5 and watch the team develop.
Sam Walsh def goes pick 1 to Carlton so forget him.
So we get two of Max King, Ben King, Izak Rankine, Bailey Smith or Jack Lukosius.
We also get Dillon O'Reilly or Claremonts Jordan Clarke in the 3rd round. Maybe we get lucky and Ian Hill is still there.
Yes Please!
Anytime you can trade a guy in the 50s, get six years quality service and trade him out for pick 4 is a no brainer!

Neale has always been a good reader of the play.

And that’s the worry. Quality guy that gives his all week in week out. Plays the full season more often than not and he wants out?
Really disappointing.

He might be thinking that he is a better chance of playing finals at Brissie!!

Another view: Freo stay quiet in the trading period:
www.theroar.com.au/2018/08/30/fremantle-...nt-completely-wrong/

On other notes: Rosich basically ruled out M. McGovern (6PR), and someone on the 6PR rumour file said categorically the Weagles will get Rory Lobb.

When your club's not in the finals, the silly season starts early.

Well, in Jezza's absence I'll put the positive side: if the reports are true, we will have turned a pick #58 into 7 years of excellent service and pick #4. That's an excellent outcome, and if you were inclined to think that way, evidence of good drafting and development.

Our backline looks ok for personnel, so I think Blakely would get more game time in the middle, and could probably give us 90% of Neale's output and you'd still get that pick (which could be used to draft a big). If you were looking at the short term, I reckon Geelong might be inclined to part with Kelly for pick 4, which would basically make Neale a straight swap for Kelly. You might even get another late pick thrown in (FWIW I'd keep the pick for sure).

Jooter, that was quite a good read, thanks for the link.

If you follow that line of thinking through - and assuming we were to find ourselves in a Gaff-like situation at the end of next season with Lachie - then trading him now for pick 4 & a 3rd rounder makes sense.

However, my concern with the King twins is the go-home factor.

But maybe, if Hogan is really being pursued by us and open to a move back home, pick 4 or 5 might be enough to get it done? Especially as Melbourne could be looking at being in a similar position as us next year with hm, as we are with Neale now.

Why do I burst in laughter everytime Freo and trades are headline stories. Wasn’t Brisbane also interested in B. Hill. Please, more fake news. And it’s laughable to think Brisbane are suddenly more advanced and are finals bound next year. They’ve got old man Hodge about to retire, Beams on his way out and haven’t played finals in a decade. Neale’s going nowhere. There’s a contract extension that the media are not letting on, in front of him plus he’s from SA. Plus his other half is a Perth girl. I’ll let you guys put the puzzle together.

So, jezza, you're telling us he's already packed and on the afternoon flight to Brisvegas?

I find it difficult to imagine you bursting into laughter at all.

Laughter to you is a cue to say “well, that was quite humorous, but...”

Or you are involved in a funeral procession.

Sam McClure seems to get a few of these right.
Just saying.

When Carlton were making us look second rate, Lachie stepped up and took the game by the scruff of the neck and dragged the rest of the side with him. His clearance work in the second quarter and around the ground was awesome.

Forget where we got him and what we get - he would be a massive loss and a hammer blow to being competitive at all next season.

I hope we can keep him.

Well I am glad we're spending heaps on Lobb and McGovern. If they're a shoe in for Lobb then they know that Lycett must be going.
How the hell is their salary cap not going over?

If he seeks a trade, it's a great opportunity for T-Bone Sheridan to step up.
