In this ever shifting blame game, maybe its time to take step back in examine our position.
i. The board signed up an expensive coach for 5 years
ii. The results on the board 43 losses in 63 games haven't justified that decision.
iii. When they had the chance to change coaches earlier this year, the board reiterated its earlier decision.
Question: Were there any KPIs attached to the coaching position? If not, why not?
When the coach is put under the spot light, the usual excuse is 'young list', 'developing', 'don't have the players'
So, has the management of the club let the coaching panel down by not managing the list to give him the players he needs? Do we blame all of this on the List Manager. Well, he's gone so there is every chance at that but if we blame the List Manager, why wasn't that failure addressed in each of the end of year reviews? Every review has told us we are on track.
Its like a shell game. The ball isn't under the shell marked coach. The ball isn't under the shell marked Recruiting. It isn't under the shell marked Management. If there is no ball under any shell, then its a con, like most shell games.
edit: Just read Polly's post - agree with the shell game comment. Its how you shift blame without anyone actually wearing it
When does the WAFC step and demand some accountability because there has been zero accountability for any of this.
