So obvious that Cornes Hackdorn and Hardie have called for it and strangely waited for a really obvious moment to call for it and after others had also called for it

Of that list, Gunston and Bruest have done more to win flags for their side than any of the rest of them. And they have done it not because of their skills or ability, which are only on a par with a lot of AFL players, including plenty of Freo players, but because of the way Clarkson utilises those skills and ability.

I haven’t, nor will I, read the incoherent ramblings of a toothless Colonwood thug who’s coaching record makes Damian Drum look like Alistair Clarkson.

But as he’s critical of everything Freo that has been a reason for some to go - ‘look, he agrees with me too!’

Raglan, agree with the assessment of Breust and Gunston ... up until the point you say their skills are not so special.
These two are some of the most elite shots for goal in the comp. I would rate them almost #1 and #2 behind only Hodge, Suckling and Mitchell in their day (and about 10 other Hawks). But thats part of Clarksons legacy, concentration on skilled players. We can hold skill clinics three hours a day for the next 150 days and some of our boys will still butcher the ball.
We did well recruiting Wilson, Ryan and Hamling, they all can kick. Success is feedback. Lets repeat the stuff we did well and stop doing the stuff we stuffed up.

The reason for their accurate goalkicking are the time they obviously spend kicking for goal at training (and in games hahahaa). Do you remember Cox saying, after he had kicked a few goals in a couple of games earlier in the year at a pretty good conversion rate, that he had spent a bit of time (with Ballas as his advisor) practising goalkicking? It seems evident that that skills practise then dropped off. Say that he should have been practising after training if you will, but I am guessing that the players are run that hard at training that extra-curricular training is not a priority.
