Giro didn't make team selections, game plan decisions and tell people what to do, so yes, the guy who does all these things...badly...gets the criticism

My point is Giro is a rookie pick in his first year who tries hard but can’t kick. He’s currently a liability on an AFL team.

So, is he a dud selection? No, because we might as well take a look at him. D Pearce would be much better, for example. Also, we don’t have too much better on the list.

That’s what a bad/rebuilding team looks like in the latter stages of an AFL season.

The Hawks best is good enough for eight, and they’re playing hard to get there. Their next 5 years look pretty grim.
