Bungy. Previously the AFL made each club spend 95% the same salary cap. Making Calton pay their players the same as Richmond, Eagles and us. Lately that's been changed quietly because several Melbourne clubs have asked for a million dollars from the AFL to survive, then bid for a player on the market. Geelong would paying Gary Abbett a good fee for playing football and a bigger fee for being employed with Geelong Above Board Co only chore is to have a pen in his shirt pocket Mon - Fri.

Mac I understand your point, but if we end up with a vault full of salary cap because of retirements, etc and we can't entice/bribe a top line player (and I hope it would be a big forward) to come onboard, then taking your point we would be compelled to spend our booty on some chump players because the AFL says so. I suppose you make your bed you have to lie in it. If that is the case the club has a serious problem for years to come in terms of player attraction, other than those than want to cruise on home on a cushy number.
