Too reminiscent of 2015 RM? A minor premiership and a Brownlow... I don’t mind a few reminders of that era, myself. Looked like we had the game and were tired so switched to the defensive, concedes 6 goals to 3 - not bad against a team off the break, IMHO.

Watched the boys perfectly execute the plan for 3/4. After that it was safety first. Ballas and Matera really need to step up I feel. Though it’s hard to be critical if they’re kicking goals.

I thought Matera was good today.

Carlton need a new architect and builder.

Yeah perhaps, he did go off after a knee scare. But our kids were strong. The inclusion of Apeness and Cox is a godsend. Darcy will struggle to break into the side.

The one long term that might have an issue is the bloke playing CHB against South's right now. Macarthy.

Funny. Darcy will walk into the side when he's fit. Stroll even.

Sox, you have Jezza's view of 2015. My view is that it showed our weaknesses, and we still have the same weakness. A game plan that is to hard on the players.

Most 2015 games were painful to watch, never mind play.

Our tackling pressure was quite evident today. It’s starting to build 2015 style, except this time our scoring method post Pav, is starting to take shape.

See above Jezza, 2015 style is what worries most Freo supporters. Get the blinkers off.

Would have liked us to really continue with domination after half time. The point is well made about the bye though.
With Walters and Hill to return after the break should add even more run. Love having the bigger blokes willing to make an aggressive contest, with Darcy coming back some real competition and options appearing in these spots.
Taberner and Pearce to come back into team for next year, the addition of another top ten pick and unknown of Bennell, here’s hoping.
6 & 7 with current team make up there is a case for rebuild tracking ok.
Tommy Sheridan would appear to be the missing piece of the puzzle.

To be up by almost 12 goals by the main break without Mikey was a tremendous effort. Enjoyed it immensely - after halftime thoughts of Aunty Guber came and went, a distant fear of that 51pt lead against a hopeless Melbourne side surfacing as well. But all good, did enough to have their coach sacked and Daisy given a one-way ticket to the magoos.

Time for a holiday.

In the second half Freo had 11 scoring shots to Carlton’s 9. They kicked 6-3 and we kicked 3-8. Clearly the boys were tired and that showed in there kicks which they were jailing in the first half. As Carlton had been sleeping in the first half they had more reserved energy to steer the ball through. I also believe two Freo shots hit the post so it could easily have been 5-6 and a 67 margin.

However the form of the younger players continue to impress, no more so than Stefan Giro. This boy is going to be a jet.

And those that doubt RTBs ability to develop youngsters, he had 10 players in today’s side that have been recruited during his time and they all played well. (Cerra, brayshaw, tucker, Langdon, Neale, Apeness, Cox, Ryan, Sheridan, Blakley) plus Taberner, A Pearce, Grey, Crowden, Darcy and Logue are all developing nicely.
