I think Bizkit you’re trying to spin a story and once again blaming the coach for Apeness recruitment. In the U18s, he was played primarily in the ruck until Tom Boyd injured himself and the Ape became Vic Metro’s forward target. He was never meant to be Pav’s replacement. Not sure why you’d think Freo recruited him to be the next Messiah. Try hitting another target buddy.

I agree. Duman looks good to me...but when will johnno be forced out? Lyon mentioned the Kersten switch. I saw Duman do enough good things in tight, quick hands etc...let's get him back in.

Definitely remember Apeness being recruited as a forward and watching many training sessions with him playing there??

you are absolutely correct. Apeness was picked as a tall forward. From memory, he was out first attempt at picking a tall forward after many years of supporters questioning our predilection for skinny midfielders.

If he can stay injury free (heres hoping) I think he has the attributes to be a good marking forward. Even better having both him and Tabs marking them forward

That’s well and good but in the 2013 U18s, Tom Boyd done an ankle in the 2nd game and Apeness played the Boyd roll with aplomb. For what it’s worth Cam MAC was selected as the CHF and Boyd as FF in the AA team that year. You guys need to watch those games to understand. Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Apeness was FF for the rangers, he rucked for vic metro. He wad listed a forward/ruckman...we got him as our first pick. Whichever role he was picked for, as a first pick there would be some high expectations.
