On the side of the coach:

- I'd be pretty sure he isn't asking players to hack forward to a wall of the opposition
- not sure he'd ask Blakely to take on three tacklers three times in front of goals
- not sure S Hill is a spare man down back, especially when he looks totally unfit
- I'd be pretty sure he isn't asking the players to bomb it to the opposition 'goal keeper' standing in the square

I never expected us to win, but we were in with a chance.

Apparently North have the fewest injuries and have only played 26 players all year.

You'd be deluded to think with the injuries we are carrying and the squad we put up each week with so many low gamers that we'd win every week.

FYI. Lots of teams are playing new players. Not every team looks as bad, and with fundamental skills errors. Freo have been dishing this up for over 3 years with zero improvement in all these areas. Blaming kids is a cop out when the old heads are just as bad if not worse.

There's plenty to see if you bothered looking.

Drubbing - you have a confirmation bias. Its not possible to tell whether we are on track or not, with so many changes in player personnel in recent games. There is going to be inconsistency. And better sides are going to make us look shite. Only those inside the tent know if the coach is respected. And the coaches know more about the team and the game of AFL in general than you or I. Things are not good but we are hardly Carlton or Brisbane.

I hate comparisons to clubs that are as bad or worse than us. It smacks of a defeatist attitude straight up.
How about comparing to teams that are supposedly also rebuilding and gone past us like Collingwood or NM?
Or being one of those teams that consistently make the finals without rebuilding like the bloody slime, Sydney, Geelong, Hawthorn, Adelaide.
It's as if some people believe you you have to have years of crapness to one day be good.
A crock imo.

If it's confirmation bias, why are we seeing the same things we've seen for years, with both old new personnel? Use some logic, that's not inexperience, it's endemic.

Some people are prepared to pass everything off as 'we're playing kids' and ignore long term issues.

Very true KK.

We always begin at the end of the season by getting excited about who we've picked up from other clubs.

Then comes the draft where we try to convince ourselves that we've got hold of the best young talent going around.

Next is the pre season comp where we pump up our tyres by beating some good sides, even though they fielded a second rate team.

The season starts and we go just okay. Some ask questions as to why we aren't perhaps doing better.

A few games in and the doubters are doubting and the believers have reasons and excuses.

Near to half way through the season and the wheels have fallen off........again.

It's Fremantle Groundhog Day.

The part of this repetitive saga that I don't understand is even though this is the third year running that it has occured there are still some people that are okay with this and seem to believe that this is the lot of being a Fremantle supporter. After all there are other teams as bad as us so phew, it could be worse.

Stuff it. I want improvement and I'm not overly concerned how ot why it happens. I'm sick of a history of being crap except for one blip on the radar. Just get it done, somehow. Idle promises and catch phrases that amount to nothing doesn't cut it anymore.

The ffc is a classic tale of the tail wagging the dog. It appears Lyon doesn't report to anyone with the board not strong enough to make a tough decision. I say throw the cheque book at Alastair Clarkson and throw the rest out.
