I’m putting things in perspective after the Slime destroyed the Tigers. We lost by 9 Pts to them, after Walters early exit and the maggots help, a few Sundays ago. That loss, of all the losses this year really infuriated me. If only but it’s history. The gap between the Slime and us, it’s not the Grand Canyon, but the ladder says otherwise. So all this nonsense about gameplan and coach is just babble. That game a few Sundays ago was crucial and it could have gone our way. I’m not throwing in the towel any time soon.

You say its not the coach. You say its not the game plan.

We do it every week. We did it on Saturday. Guess what? We lost that game as well. Badly.

If its not the coach, if its not the game plan, then maybe we need a coach with a game plan that doesn't involve bombing it in high and slow to a forward line with one short player.

You can say its just babble all you want. That doesn't change the fact that it happens. Every week. Thats not babble. Thats just frustrating. If it isn't the coach responsible for that then maybe we can look for a coach who will stop our players from ignoring Roly's instructions to not bomb it in high and slow because clearly nobody is listening to this one.

Ah cmon jezza, that's not perspective, that's retrospective optimism, based on one game.

Just because we got close to WC in the derby doesn't mean we're just a little way off playing the way they do. In case you hadn't noticed they've only lost 1 game this season. They just torched the top team. They bring it every week. We lifted for the derby, but still butchered the forward entries, then crashed again just as quickly.

It seems nothing with deter you from you from the idea we just need a bit of time and some meat on the kids. If that's what you need to keep believing, go for it. You're not convincing many others.

The thing Jezza is ignoring, the elephant in the room, if you like, is that we are so badly coached that we are only just beating the very ordinary sides. We are only beating the likes of the Saints through individual brilliance and very hard work. That will not (as we have seen with the Tigers game having the best 2 players on the ground yet getting flogged) win games against the top 6 sides.

And back to Crowden's 14kms for 5 touches and 2 tackles...this is indicative of a player and team that is not short of will but very short on direction and confidence. How shattered would Crowden feel after that game? At least we know this little beast of a player will just get up and go again and again.

I think you’ll find the GPS on most AFL players average between 12-14 kms every game. The game is about 2 way running. I’ll admit, our forward line is dysfunctional. If we had, and I’ve stated this before, a Darling/Kennedy or Brown/Waite or Hogan/MacDonald, it’d be a different story. All those players mentioned, except Hogan (60+) and MacDonald (80+) have played 100+ games individually, couple of those combos are over 200 games. That there is fact. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme a double act after midnight, won’t somebody help me chase the shadows away...., great ABBA lyrics.
