The odds for the Roos are great to get on. I suspect that’ll shortened. If what everyone says it’s true about our game plan is true, no way we win next week. But the question is we’ve beaten all but Slime at home, albeit a loss by 9 points. Dons thrashed Cats yesterday. So if we beat Roos, which I suspect we will, but the white noise says we won’t, where does that put us.

Jezza, there is no short term solution - but you continually give Lyon and his game plan a free pass and put it all on the youth - as if that's the main issue.

That's crap. If anything, the draftees, Wilson, Ryan and Pearce are holding their own. Of course we're going to be outgunned by finals bound teams. Yes, we also have injuries.

But the team itself is a shambles - badly structured and a broken, repetitive forward 50 game plan. That's has nothing to do with the players. It's planning, structure and Lyon.

If you really think a good marking forward is the solution to all our problems, there really is nothing to say.

How many entries did we have at half time - for 2 goals. The ball gets there. It's how it's gettin ther that is the issue that's being going on for years. A bloke called Pavlich didn't fix it. You really think a marking target is going to kick us 5-6 every week? Dreamin.

Lyon said something last night that genuinely shocked me. In explaining the lack of a forward line he said the midfielders did not hold the ball up enough. You know like in soccer and hockey you have holding midfielders; highly skilled players who control the ball whilst forwards in an "off side" game get forward.

Does that sound like the right approach in AFL? Midfielders holding the ball up.

Will Freo make the eight?

Based on the games we have played this year and based on how we have won and lost those games, then the answer is a clear no. Nor do we deserve to make the eight.

Our constant failure to learn from where we go wrong is the key factor. To play finals this year, we have to change the way we are doing things. Based on our failure to change over the last three or four years, you can confidently predict that we will not suddenly change now.

Unless we do, we won't be looking at playing finals this year or next.

A few weeks back it was the forwards fault for pushing too far up the ground. Now it’s the midfields fault for not stopping. Give it a month and it’ll be the defense’s fault for rebounding too quick.

I’ve sprayed Darling up until recently. It’s taken him 8 seasons to be any good. You blokes are asking for the impossible. I’m prepared to wait until 2020, but I’ve said this before if we don’t make the 8 this year, Roly is in strive, especially the recent hysteria surrounding his management skills. You blokes might get your wish after all. If it happens I’m giving up my membership cause it’ll take a decade of pain to rewire.
