My mate was sitting in block 502 with lots of other Saints supporters. His interactions with the knobhead supporters occurred away from the seated areas (drinks and food areas) and on the way home on the train, so there was no way to identify or report anyone.
He said that most were over 50yo as well.

I'd like to agree with you Shane, but it was the Mandurah line.

It makes sense it wouldn't be the Armadale line. You don't spit where you sleep - or something like that.

When you’re on that particular rail line, spit happens.

Send your mate down again this weekend, see if he recognizes any of them at this weeks game.

I'm sorry to read this RO
I've seen it before and been ashamed to the point that we swapped seats with them so they could have some peace and enjoy their win.

The night games have always been the games to drink more at the game and before the game. I posted previously that Optus is a novelty still and people are excited and behaving like casino bogans who don't respect others time at a venue. Night games spoil it for country members and older members also. And our night games start at early at 6.30pm not 8.00pm as in the east because of T.V viewing.
Poor eastern state supporters getting the kiddies home just before midnight on cold winters night. I did a couple of games at the MCG and I found it odd finishing so late.
I refuse to go on a school night Thursday.

As a Melbournite I can attest to the far better behaviour, and general banter between rival fans. I think the reason is there's typically more balanced numbers of fans at each game so you have to either act with an air of good humility and humour, or resort to European like football hooliganism. I'm glad we choose the former.

Unfortunately WA is a two team town, and each week effectively a one team town. Throw into the mix 50k people and excessive pre game whip up (sorry, 'fan engagement') and you're going to generate this kind of behaviour amongst some who still act with this prehistoric tribe mentality.

Of course Melbourne based supporters ar far more cultured than us in the West. Apparently we are also the worst drivers in the world.
I am 47 and have never been spat on or even witnessed anybody being spat on. I am sure it is an isolated incident and not a true representation of the general football public.
Despite what we may think we are no different to the followers of any other team.
The one caveat I will put on this is the arrogance of West Viast supporters when travelling well seem to be next level. Even they would have very few supporters that would stoop to this level.

I thought the spitting was done by a St Kilda supporter?
