This is one of the very few and possibly first decisions the Freo management have made I could get fully behind. Only problem is they stuffed up the delivery and made up some poor excuse for their decision of which no one could support. It just sounded dumb and there was obviously more to the story but by doing their normal snake act, they ruined the support they'd receive for the idea.

The medal should never be named after an OOFTIT legend and there have been many threads on here saying so. I sure as hell hate the name but when the club management act like your regular car salesman, it's difficult to get behind.

I'm choosing to ignore the weak delivery and get behind a new medal for the best Freo player on ground. There's no way it isn't the Kickett medal and I want to see the winner knock a few OOFTIT's on their ass.

I think it’s bloody funny that they feel playing the Dockers warrants awarding one of their players with a BOG medal in the confines of their own changing room. Even more funny when they are the losing team. I’m sure the winning player will treasure it... hahahahaha!

Glendinning played 56 games for East Perth, 190 for North Melbourne and 40 for WCE. By my reckoning, that is 14% of games played. TWO seasons as inaugural captain is hardly "Eagles Legend" status.

He was Freo's Chairman of Selectors for a similar period of time!

Do me a favour. What a ridiculous overreaction to drop it. Four time winner Hasleby wants to keep it, that's good enough for me.

This is all very sad and just a week out from the derby. Why on earth would our club make such a dumb decision? All it's done is give the WCE more impetus to stick it up us! Not feeling as confident about this Sunday as I was a few days ago.

I always thought the Glendinning connection to us was tenuous, glad tge club has called it out.

The easiest way to fix this is to have both inaugural captains on the medal.
