Everybody knows that Johnson's game is as the third tall, essentially not playing as a tall at all but mopping up and creating. Without Hamling, he becomes the second tall and can't mop up anything because he's busy doing something he's not particularly good at. They have three talls in Watts, Dixon and Westhoff, which means that Ryan will have to play a negating role as our third tall defender rather than running off himself. So we lose the Wilson-Ryan one-two punch that was so great in pre-season.
So we've gone from a back six of Wilson, Hamling, Johnson, Ryan, A Pearce and Blakely that looked frigging awesome to one that will have all of the problems of last year, lacking rebound. It might not be by design but either way it totally sucks.
