When D Pearce gifted his first touch to wc and then the first goal that followed, I took a deep breath and tried to relax. Luckily Dannyl stayed out of trouble for most of the game and i was able to enjoy some youthful enthusiasm and aggression coupled with some great ball movement from the whole team.
What was with Shooey...he was definitely dirty today, but quite harmless in the end. In fact it was sort of cute watching the little guy getting all sookywooky.

Good hitout to get the confidence up. The end to end stuff looked good as did the pressure, haven’t seen that game style for a couple of years. Spurr and pearce turned it over a bit with poor kicking, and Mccarthy and Kersten need to step it up, didnt notice suttcliffe which is usually a good thing. If we can find another big / medium forward to become a consistent target and give tabs a hand I think we’ll have a very good season.

The conditions today were pretty sapping, so to win by that margin illustrates the contrasting preseason had by both teams. We looked better conditioned this year than the past 5. We’re kicking more this year than the past 5. And we’ve picked up some good talent compared to the past 5. I said the gap has narrowed when we last got pantsed by Port. They’ll know we’re coming.

Ballas was definitely our best today IMO
I know lachie was terrific and Fyfe was really really good. Walters excellent.
It kills me to say this but....... Danyle Pearce was among our best after his first couple of stuff-ups
