As fate would have it Shane, I bought a Supporters Club membership to get access to the Skyview Bar (or whatever it's called) for two reasons:

I. On the chance that they would sell full-strength beer there (it was confirmed this week they will); and
II. On the off chance that before the game there will be a pyrotechnics show featuring people dressed as characters from Star Wars dancing to the Beastie Boys.

Money well spent I reckon.

Yeah, they were a bit coy about how they advertised it, pitching it as 'a fantastic spot to socialise with family, friends and other Freo members before, during and after the match', but experienced alcohol enthusiasts can spot an opportunity to be gauged for full-strength beer a mile away, so my mates and I jumped on pretty early.

The club confirmed this week that full strength beer would be sold. Frankly, I'm surprised people spent the long weekend arguing about whether Tabs can anchor a forward line when they should have been handing over the hard-earned for the benefit of avoiding the flavour disaster of mid-strength beer.

For starters, I'm usually wary of anything self-promoted as a 'superpub' Second, I'm not sure whether a quarter-time dash to the Camfield is really viable.

A fun part of my game day experience was heading down to the Billy Walker room at halftime to have a proper beer in a glass and discuss the game with friends who sit elsewhere in the stadium. I'd rather not have to pay for the privilege at the new digs, but we thought we'd give it a bash the first year and see if it's worth it.
